You'll notice, as you wander around Baltic country, that the nations share things in common.
- Architecturally, there are cobblestone streets, enough castles to provide for uncounted volumes of fairy tales and fantasy literature, and even more churches than castles.
- Roadsigns follow European conventions, although each country has a smattering that are unique to it.
- Many of the same plants grow in all the countries, so you'll find people everywhere collecting and eating mushrooms and berries, for example.
- There's the Baltic Sea itself, which deserves some attention but doesn't fit under any single national category.
Therefore, rather than repeat the same information in different countries, we're putting some things that apply more or less to all the countries here. Then you can read about them just once.
